Earl Spencer, Lord Lieutenant, issued three new proclamations late last evening, offering rewards for information relative to the Phoenix Park murders, namely, £5,000 for information leading to the conviction of the assassins, the authorities promising to insure that the names of informers will not be divulged; £10,000 to any accomplice in the crime, not the actual murderer, who will give information leading to the con- viction of the actual murderer or accom- plice; and £500 for information leading to the identification of any accomplice or of the car on which the assassins rode, or of the assassins clothes or whereabouts. The money to be paid on corroboration of in are also in danger of falling over the side in several places. F. Davin had been appointed North-West Council. Cork, Dec. 17. Parnell, O'Connor and Sexton arrived to- day. This evening a banquet was given Parnell. While toasts were being offered a stranger proposed the health of the Queen of the Belgians. An attempt was made to eject him, whereupon he drew a revolver. The weapon was wrested from him and he was given into custody. Lonpon, Dec. 17. The firm of Morris, Smith & Co., of Swansea, tinplate manufacturers have failed; liabilities £100,000. Paris, Dec. 17. At a meeting of the geographical society to-day M. De Lesseps promised that the Panama canal would beready to be opened in 1888, Parts, Dec. 16. It is said that at the session of Ministers on Saturday Admiral Jaurequiberry sub- mitted a draft of a vote of credit for 11,- 000,000 francs for the expedition to Ton- quin. President Grevy and several of the Ministers opposed the expedition. Other Ministers present supported it.
