Ii-minute, the latter for non~money
winners in former races. The 2.40
promised a good contest, and would
have been save for the accidents in-
cident to racing.
Harry Mac, Keltie, Queen Cathe-
rine, Nettie, Gold Clip and Tipperary
werethe starters, Queen Catherine
having the pole. 'and after somescor-
ing was indulged in they aut away
well hunched, Harry Mac soon assum~
ing the lead with Keltle at his wheel.
The latter Jumped a bank and made
a tangled break falling so far behind
that his driver, Walter. Found, who
had the mount to-day, decided not to
try for the heat, Harry Mac winning,
Nettie second and Tipperary third,
Queen Catherine fourth. The latter is
lame and a bit off form.
The second heat developed the only
bit of sensation in the afternoon, it
being a hammer and tonga fight be-
tween-Harry Mac and Keltle. They
raced like a teaui the last half of-thc
stretch. Found nursing the colt over
thc rough spots in the top of the
COUFSB. and it was nnybody`s race to
the final strides, Keltie making a
slight mistake under pressure, the
judges seeing Mac first, Kellie second
and Nettie third. This set the crowd
oliro and the next heat was awaited

doo was on the job. for after
racing
all, but Harry who was just a length
back, into submission, when align;
200 yards from the finish threw a
