McLeod was the cnly son of the late
Donald and Jessie McLeod 01 Wood
Island, P. E. I. and left home thirty
years ago goiing to Norwood, Mass,
where the entered the employ oi’ New
Haven Railroad as Freight Conduc-
tor which position he held at the time
of his death, Mr. McLeod was work-
ing with ‘his men from 2.30 o'cloc_k
till 10.30 at night and had twenty
'minutes to work when he made zi
misstep or slipped. falling between two
frelight cars and was instantly killed.
He was patient, earnest, sincere -and
conscientious. Work was a pleasure'
and to every one he gavetlie best
that was in him. Nothing mean or
sordid had a, place in his make up and
Mr. McLeod was held dear to all that
knew him. He found most pleasure in
his home and family and was a lov-
ing husband and father Home was ev-
erything to 'hiin~l. Mr_ McLeod was
regarded as one oi' the best railroad
men in the' community never having
n mark against him in his long term
of service and his death has been a
terrible shock to everyone. He is siir~
vivcd by a wife, three daughters, one
son, two grand children; ails/o an aged
mother. four sisters Mrs. A. W. Fin-
nlyson, Mrs. J. M. Martin, of P. E. I.
Mrs. Dan Beaton of Roache Point, B.
C.; and Mrs. Winsloe- E. Cushman
of Norwood, Mya. Much sympathy is
felt for his family in their hour _of
sorrow. The funeral was held Tues-
day aftemoon, October 16th at 2
o’clock from his home, 198 Million St.
