The Grand Jury met to-day and immedi- ately proceeded to the consideration of the case of Charles J. Guiteau, charged with murdering Janes A. Gartield. The only witnesses heard were Surgeon General Barnes, who testified as to the wound, and Officer Adams, on duty at the depot at the time the fatal shot was fired. Dr. Lamb, who conducted the autopsy, was also given a hearing, but before his testimony was concluded the jury adjourned until to- morrow. Louisvitin, Ky., Oct. 3. A dance on a farsa near here, on Satur- day, wound up with the murder of David Stowers and Veula Walter. One of these men had insulted Dick Carico who on meeting them asked them which was the man. Ammunition, with an escort of 300 Tunisians, reached Ali Bey safely. In the third fight on September 29th, Ali Bey lost 51 men—killed and wounded. The Arabs finally retired across the river Melina.
