The greatest interest was taken in the various items on the programme of ames by the large number of people present. The bicycle races, however, seemed to have the n.ost admirers, gad the two events undee this heading were well contested. There was no loafing, and at the finish the w noers liad very little to beast about. Towards the finish of the five mile rac*, nearing the wire, Reggie S.ewart | and Harry Grady collided, and both were throwa from their wheels. Sicwart’s wheel was badly broken and he bad to abandon the race. Grady pluckily re- | sumed the race as soon as he could gather | himself together, and putting on «# mag- nificent spurt was soon up with the bunch, who had gained about a quarter of a lap by the accident.
