At the exhibition to-day the judges awarded first prize to the herd of (Guernsey | cattle exhibited by E. R. Brow, of Char- lottetown. In the heifer calf herd the second prize was awarded to the same person. The cattle in both herds com- peted against Jersey and Guernsey herds from all fparts of the provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The Halifax Graving Dock. Hawirax, Sept. 19. At ten o'clock yesterday, Vice Admiral Watson and staff visited the Halifax Gray- ing Dock, and inspected the works. He appeared to be thoroughly satisfied, and said he would order H. S. Canada docked to-day. In the afternoon, the Mayor and Aldermen also inspected the dock. At one o'clock to-day, the Canada will enter the dock. When the ship is made fast, the Admiral, it is expected, will declare the dock open. Baseball and Horse Races. Sr. Joun, N. B., Sept 18, The Shamrock-St. John, game was again postponed to-day. The weather cleared up about noon, but the Shamrocks, who have the choice of grounds in the first game, decided theirs were too wet.
