Ont, on Sept. 28. 1904. and was educated there and at Trinity College School, Port Hope. He began his bank- ing career In Peterborough in 1923. and later served at Hamil ton. 0nt.: London. En gland; Paris. France; at head office in Montreal. and as accountant at Montreal branches. Returning in November 1945 after four years with the Canad- ian Army. Mr. Mulholland again served at head office and mov- ed to Vancouver in 1946 as an assistant manager of the bank's main branch there. Lat- er. be served as manager at Vic- toria. B.C.. Ottawa and Montreal main branches. While serving in the last-men- tioned post. Mr. Mulholland was appointed an assistant general manager. in 1954. In the follow- ing year. he was made assitant general manager In charge of the Ontario division. with head- quarters in Toronto. In 1958. he became deputy general manag- er. and on March 17. 1959, was appointed general manager. He was elected a director and a El“ vice- president at the bank's an- nual meeting on Dec. 5. 1960. In January. 1964. he became chief general manager. Mr. Mulholland was president of the Canadian Bankers’ Asso- ciation from 1961 to 1963.
