An office in trailers will be set up at the drill site and the actual drilling work when started, will continue without interruption until oil is found or the company represents the Imperial Oil com- decides to abandon. the project. $'side Receives I sII,I2s The town of Summerside yes- terday received a cheque from the Federal Government in the amount of’ $11,128.36, represent- ing a refund on the sales tax paid by the town during the past two years, in the purchase of fuel oil used by the Summerside Electric Light Department in Cheque generating electricity. Previously the town had received a cheque of $4,413.16 from Maritime Electric Com- pany, representing a refund as the result of a fuel clause’ in their electrical energy purchase contract with that company. The two refunds total $15,540.52. ' We-Itoie Agencies Seek Govt. Aid For Board The regular meeting of the, Prince County Cathol-ic Welfare Agency was held on Wednesday evening with the President Dr. Hubert MacNeill president. There was‘ a general discussion on the idea that community or parish organizations might under- take to pay the board of one ward of the agency. These children have been removed from broken homes, are children of unmarried mothers. or for some other reason have been taken by the agency as wards and the cost of boarding them in foster homes is a con- siderable expense. The executive director reported that several groups are already doing this work. Mr. Henry Wedge was appoint- ed to represent the agency on a delegation composed of repres- entatives of the Catholic and Pro- testant Agencies in Charlottetown to request the Provincial Govern- ment to pay these board bills. A similar request was pre- .viously turned down by the Ex- ecutive Council but it is thought tha with the extra revenue to be rec ived from the Federal Govern- ment that this help should be re- ceived. The alternative is to make the children wards of the Govern- ment and then the Government must voluntary agencies are will- ing to~ do. The twin appointments have be- come necessary following yester- day’s Strong, Q.C., that he intended to resign from both offices effective February 28. The veteran Sum- merside lawyer has served the Town in each capacity for the past 26 years. Fourth appointee as magistrate ingthe Towns history since 1874, Mr. Strong will continue his pre- sent law practice which he es- tablished in the Western Capital in 1912. Mr. Strong, who possesses a vast knowledge of the history-of Summerside and Prince County, said that the previous magis- - trates since that time, have been v James W.
