con'fv from that the dinner this year, with few exceptions, will be attended by freshmen and sophcmores, the major- ity of whom will be in the Arts program. This is not representative of the uni- versity faculties and it is not giving credit where credit is due." Do you realize that, out of the Universitity's total en- rollment of 1478 students, 1002 are in the faculty of Arts? Why then, shouldn't the Arts students form the majority at the dinner, since they are clearly the majority at the university? Also, (perhaps I am over- sensitive), but I detected a hit of condescention in the mention of Arts fresh— man and sophomores.- The first years in any faculty are not as easy as some like to think. - And Arts is a respectable a faculty as any. (While we're on the subject, I would here- by denounce any and all who ridicule the Arts pro- gram; it gives one a much better liberal education than any faculty. - and I invite any arguments on this statement!) . Iwouldevemgoas faras to. suggest that the event does not qualify for the title "Dean‘s Dinner", as it does not include all those on the Dean's list. (Call it the "Food for fa- vored few" or "Hoedom for 100") “But, seriously, to say that the. invitations do not give "credit where credit is due"? I Really, that is going too far. signed. .' A lard-working sophomore Artsie (of course) Dear Editor, This is just a note of appreciation both the the authors and to your news— paper for the excellent and thought provoking ar— ticle on abortion which was featured in last week's is- sue of the SUN. The reason that this person was killed is because he(she) was conceived out of lust and not love!
