BRINGING UP FATHER W I'VE ‘AONDERED WHAT Mining The week's bullish note in the mining market faded out in the final short session and narrow net losses were posted ior the base metals, and golds. Western oils registered an insignificant advance in slow action. Weakness in golds was not shar- ed by the senior issues. Lake Shore and Holllnger were up a little and Dome held unchanged at 60. Losses were limited to '7 cents for Central Patricia, Gun- nar, Macassa. Mining Corporation, Oro Pinto. Pickle Crow and Per- ron. Hard Rock was in demand at an advance of 8 cents and Mac- Leod-Corkshutt iirmed 5 cents. Big base metals ran into profit- taking and net losses oi 3-4 for Nnrnnrla and Nickel and 3-8 ior Imrisnn ‘Bnv were recorded. The selling was more urgent than the buying in Waite-Amulet and the price eased down 10 cents to 4.80 with 23.000 shores changing hands. Eldorado closed a few cts hlaher. Western oils moved quietly and price adjustments were limitedto a few cents. Calgary-Edmonton Okalta lost 5 and Brown. Davies and Firestone were firmer.
