Charlottetow 'Q " ! ipaper makiiig, our more northern cli Alliance." The context shows that it is the report of the P. E. Island Branch ofthe Alliance that is referred to, and this report, the Examiner says, “seems to have been particularly objection-lble to the Patriot and THB: GUARDIAN.” The facts of the case are that on April lirst THB GUARDIAN the branch Alliance which report is of twice the length and very much fuller than the Examiners report published twelve hours later on the same day. We did not print the report of the Executive Committee in full, but gave a synopsis of it which, with the resolutions founded thereon was suflicient for the occasion. If our esteemed contemporary had read our report of_ the meeting he would have found that so far from the Executive’s report being “objection- *able” to the GUARDIAN it was warm- ly endorsedas an “excellent report,” which was enthusiastically received by the Alliance and unaminously ad- opted. It is regrettable that any newspaper should seek to so pervent the facts as the Examiner has done in this case. But bad habits, long in- dulged became besetting sins. No one will be deceived by the Examin- er’s misrepresentations in the case, though the intention to deceive mu be only too apparent to all.
