is applauding. I am glad he has
taken sufficient notice of it. But
there was one occasion on which Ii” was voted 1”; ye,"-_ There 1, no
was really a little disappointed in
the address of the Minister of Ag-
riculture; and it was the time when
he was addressing the British Par-
liamentarians at a distinguished
banquet given to them in Charlotte-
town. As I said before, he had al-
ways been wonderful on these oe-
caslons, boosting Prince Edward Is-
land to the limit; but on this occa-
sion, just like last evening, he re-
ferred only to one narrow section of
the Island-the put. I think he said,
that pays one-fifth of the whole
taxes or the Provinces-and ignored
the rest. On the occasion when he
spoke before the Parliamentarinns
he told them about the Fourth Dis-
trict of Prince which he had the
honor to represent, and his modesty
knew no bounds! He described that
District as "the little Egypt of Prince
Edward Island." (Laughter). 1 think
that expression "little Egypt" would
be a good slogan for the whole of
this Province; and why make two
bites of this huckleberry? Little
Egypt reminds us of the great
Egypt; and if we refresh our mem-
ories ot Biblical teaching we will re-
call that Egypt was the‘ land of bull-
rushes and the ark, of the loving

best manner they could, the exhib-
itions not only in this Province but
also at the Amherst Winter Fair
and the Canadian National Exhibi-

goods were displayed.
In dealing with the school fairs
and other exhibitions throughout
the Province the Minister of Agri-
culture gave ua n great deal of in-
fomation. Some oi it is worth re-
peating; and, Mr. Speaker, I wish
;t~ corroborate the statements that.

; mcse exhibitions and fairs. The larg-
est of these is the- Provincial Ex-
hibition, held at Charlottetown. I
was pleased to hear the Minister
speak so enthusiastically about the
attendance at that exhibition. He
gave in detail a. great deal of'in-
formation with regard to the value
of these exhibitions to the farmer.
As an exhibitor, and as one who has
taken e. great deal of interest in ex-
hibitions, there is nobody better
qualified to speak on the subject
than the Minister of Agriculture
