years. This is the industry of fox-
breeding. The skin of black foxes
meets uitli such a great demand in
the London and New York markets
that these animals are now being
bred in "ranches" Kcpt in pens with
artificial burrows attached, the black
fox is now to be seen carefully bred
on scientific principles with a view
to the development of its very valu-
able fur, Home of the animals are of
great value; a "boom" is going .or
in the industry, and prices run up tt

largely, is probably one of the mos
surprising which is to be met with
anywhere in Canada.
From its quietness and its pleasant
summer climate, l'rince Edward Is-
land is becoming a frequented sum-
mer resort for people from the busier
centres. This process will increast
with the rapid growth which is going,
on in these centres, and is destined
doubtless to bring much money into
the Island every summer. Like all
thc other provinces, “The Island,"
as it is called, now carries on a de-
velopment propaganda, and the
Boards of Trade of Charlottetown
rind Summersidc issue some useful
pamphlets dealing with the attrac-
