Its very words and phrases have entered into the structure of the common speech of the western world. and many to-day use its words and even accept its standards of con- duct with little or no -realization of their source. The book is ethical through and through. It does not indeed pro- vide a legalistic system. a code of behaviour. which. as man's com- mon llfe becomes more complex and ethical problems more intract- able. would need constant revision: but it does set before men a stan- dard. a point of reference. an ul- timate sanction, which offers him the guidance he- needs as he is faced by the, moral choices which none can escape. Meeting Of Cerebral Palsy Group The Cerebral Palsy Parents Group met at the Y. M. C. A. on Tuesday. March 10th. A large number of parents of such handicapped children were present for the meeting. presided over by the presidnt, Mrs. Dan Farquharson. and were much en- couraged by the talk of the guest speaker. Mrs. Clifford Birt who was a speech and occupational teacher in Holland. She told about the work being done in Holland for these children. In the course of her talk she demonstrated a number of articles which could be employed and .me- thods used io interest the child Many of these articles she made herself and told the parents they could be made at home and in this way assist them. .Bhe.strcssed the fact that the physically handicap- ped children can be educated and that some of the most severely handicapped have become lawyers, docfors, teachers, etc., but said that "a sound mind behind a. crippled child will also become crippled unless adequate channels for ex- Win Temperance presslon are provided.” .
