JULY 9. 1952 Schedule For 2nd Section of Softball League The schedule for the second section of the City Softball Lea- gue, which was drawn up by sec- retary Wendall Gillls. was ratified and accepted by the league ex- ecutive at a special meeting in the Holy Name Hall last night. The meeting reversed a form- er executive decision and decided that all evening games would henceforth run only seven innings. A game may be called any time after the fifth inning for dark- ness or rain and still considered a game. Deadline for rcgisti'at.lon with the Maritime Softball Association was set at noon Saturday. July 12. The cost of registration is 52.75 A team and the team names and registration fees are to be turned in to Wendall Gillis at the Sport Lodge by Saturday noon. The ex- ecutive decided that teams not complying with this regulation would be ineligible for the play- offs. Horne Motors, by an unanlrnous vote, were given the right to select three more men for their team. I-iorne's request for help was granted in view of the fact. that they fire losing six off their team members and would be unable to continue league play under present conditions. The players must be picked and their names submit- ted by six o'clock this evening. One member frdm each of the right league teams was appointed to act as umpire for the second section. It was also decided that an executive meeting would be held in the Holy Name Hall each Tuesday evening: Following is the the second section: July: 10-B. Y. C. at L. Y.
