He pointed out that P .E. 1. was the only province in Canada which did not have a club and also that the Canadian Council of the Blind was celebrating their 10th anniversary this fall in London, Ont., and if a club was formed in Charlottetown it would mean that all Provinces would be represented in the future. Talks were given by Miss A. Mac- Klnnon, home teacher of the C. N. I. B. who has been teach- ing in Charlottetown and surround- ing areas, also Mr. P. C. Bower, a representative of the C. N. I. B. At the meeting it was decided to form a club and this club will be known as the "Friendship Club of the Blind." Mr. George I-iaines was elected president and Mr. Edgar Doucette as vice-president, other officers will be elected at the next meeting. A business meeting will be held on the first Thursday of each month and a social evening will be held on the third Thursday of each month. All blind people are cordial- ly invited to attend these meet- ings. The following are some of the aims of the club: (a) To foster a bond of union among the blind. (b) To provide efficient organiza- tions by which prompt and united action can be obtained, beneficial to the blind, when such action is necessary. (c) To promote the social life of the blind. (d) To co- operate with other organizations for and of the blind in any mat- ters beneficial to the blind.
