NOTICES What's on at the Panther Lounge We have so much going on for the next couple of weeks, I hardly know where to begin. Eve- ryone get out your dayplanners and plot your study schedule around the events we have planned for the next couple of weeks at the Barn. This Thursday (Oct 14th), Campus Com- edy will be taking place at the Barn. We have five student comedians already signed up and we expect a couple more brave souls the night of the event to give it a try. There is over $350.00 in prize money to be won, so things should be really interesting. The ‘‘Arrogant Worms’’ will be hosting the event and will definitely have you laughing yourselves to death. Friday, October 1 Sth is the date for MAPUS “‘Octoberfest’’. Dance up a storm to great DJ music and have a sausage and a beer to wash it down!! OK, now that you’ve been out to Thurs- . day’s Campus Comedy and Friday’s Octoberfest, there’s still Saturday’s CIMN Fallfest. CIMN will be hosting not one but seven bands! The lineup includes Hemlock, Roach, Llid, Down, Strawberry, Dreamwest and local recording artist Scott Parsons, who has just released a new compact disc. The first band will begin at 8pm and tickets are $6 advance and $7 at the door. Oh, we almost forgot about Friday after- noon and the legendary movie pubs. This week’s movies are Bram Stroker’s ‘‘Dracula’’ and Brandon Lee’s last movie (before his un- timely death), ‘‘Rapid Fire’’. After all this fun we’ll let you rest ‘til Wednesday’s Jam Night (Oct 20th) where ‘‘Lost and Confused’’ will be rockin’ the lounge, but if the Blue Jays make it to the World Series or WHEN the Jays make it to the World Series you'll have to catch the action on our two big screens. Specials during Jays’ games are so good we almost shouldn’t be mentioning it in the article, so all we’ll say is ‘‘The Stampede Special’’. It will be up to you to come down and ask one of our bartenders how low the prices will go when the Jays score arun. We also have a limited number of Blue Jays draught jugs to give away during the World Series. One last event to tell you about: Thursday, October 21st we’re going to have country-rock band ‘‘Dallas’’ playing in the Lounge. AVAILABLE AT: PROUDE SHOES - 161 ST.
