WEDDING BELLS-A quiet but pretty wedding took place in St. Peter's Church, Seven Mlle Bay, on the morning of Wednesday, Febru- ary 27th, when Miss Rose Warren. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Warren, Albany, became the wife of Mr. Ambrose Corr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Corr, Emerald. Rev. Father Monoghan performed the ceremony and the ‘Witnesses were Miss Bertha Warren (sister of the bride) and Mr. Raymond Mulligan, Emerald. After the marriage the happy couple drove to the home of the bride where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was served aft- er which Mr. and Mrs. Corr left on the Car Ferry on a honeymoon trip to Montreal and other cities. The high esteem In which the bride und groom are held by their friends was attested by the many beautiful gifts from their friends-showers being held previous to the marri- age in honor of the bride at the home of her sister Mrs. Joseph Muttart, Searletown. and at the home of Mr. Thomas Deighan, Em- crnid, in honor of the groom. At the latter the groom was presented with a nicely worded address accum punled by fitting romembrances from his fellow-citizens. On their return from their wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Corr will reside In Emerald "Illlige where a host of friends will wish them a long, happy and prog. llcrous wedded life. A careful sourch through the premises was unsuccessful. It seemed that the slueths of the law were foiled. 'i‘hcy were still suspicious however. and one of them suggested taking the woman to lhc Police Station "and searching her stocking!’ At this intimation the woman of the house. emitted u most doleful moan and beat a hasty rctrcat to the buck yard where she was followed by the Prohibition officers. She up- pourcrl to be searching eagerly for something bulky about her person, and on this hint one of the officers opened the attack in the approved foot-bull style. A Homeric ensued. the objective being the suspected stocking. At last part of the con- tents of a "teddy" of liquor were secured and triumphantly confisc- ‘sled.
