This scholarship is adminis- tered by the St. Dunstan’s University Board of Governors. It is to be awarded to a student entering Senior year at university who has, during their previous years at university, given evidence of outstanding academic achievement and student leadership in the university community. Applicants must be a practising Roman Catholic, a student who has completed Junior year, is an Islander by birth or resi- dence, and who has above average academic performance. Applications may be picked up at Student Services. The deadline to apply is December 1. Royal Commonwealth Bursary. This bursary is awarded annually to a student from any Commonwealth country other than Canada in any field of study at UPEI. The award is based on academic excellence and need. It seeks to recognize students who will use their studies to contribute to the development of their country of origin. Application forms are available at the Registrar’s Office. Application deadline is January 31. Soroptimist Foundation of Canada Grants for Women. The Soroptimist Foundation of Canada annually offers several $5000. grants to female students to assist them with univer- sity studies which will qualify them mainly for careers serving other women by improving the quality of their lives. Eligible applicants must be: a female and a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant; registered in a graduate program of studies or be in the final year of a four year undergraduate program in an accredited university; pursuing a course of studies which will lead mainly to a career of service to women; intending to spend a minimum of two years in such a career to Canada; as well as be pursuing their course of studies in Canada. Applications are to be submitted by January 31.
