W. Sullivan, Esq., re | | garding the school question and other mat; | ters; and feel that we’ would not be doing justice to ourselves or to Mr. Sullivan, as our representative, were we to allow said attacks to pass uncontradicted. With re- | gard to the school question, all we under- stood Mr, Sullivan to say, was, that he was in favor ofa fair and equitable settlement of it and would support such amendments as we required in the education act when; | ever there was an opportunity of accom- plishing the same, We believe that he was, and is, sincere on the education ques, tion, and the vest proof of that is that he spoke in favor of it in his place in Parlias ment, when the editor of the ‘ Herald,’ who now reviles him, was silent on the question. With regard to the local inters ests of the district, we believe that Mr. Sullivan has attended to them better than any representative we ever had. By publishing this ia the next issue of the Examiner, you will oblige, Yours respectfully, Anthony McCormack, J.P., Richard Dwan, David Lewis, Michael Mclsaac, D. Mclsaac John McInnis, E. A young married lady is the sensation in social circles in England just now. She is a Hindoo, from Madras, who, although be- longing to a high caste, has ventured not only to cross the ocean, but also to mix freely in London Society, and toe conform genera!ly to the social customs of the country. Ac- companied by her husband she has visited the chief objects of interest in the metros polis and in several provincial cities. The British people are prepared to contribute with all their accus« tomed liberality to relieve their fellow sub jects in the East. The weather in Ireland—It would seem that people make fortunes in Ireland nows adays. A few weeks ago, the personality of a Dublin merchant, who had recently purchased the Irish estate,of Lord Derby, in ‘Tipperary, for $160,000, was sworn under £300,000, and now that of another, Dr. Findlater, had been sworn under £350,~ 000! Messrs. I was very weak with a bad cough, pain in my lungs and left shouider, was un- able to turn in bed; tried everything that was recommended, but found no relief; anel hav- ing a catalogue of your medicines in my house, sent and got two bottles of your Bitters and Syrup, and used them; and am happy to say that | am hearty and well, through the use of the same.
