CARBONS _ ,_ `\.\ Whither he lad Gone Yesterday, "‘-'“""°T"’“ I2' Morning-Found Dead by his , Brother a few Minutes Another death that by its suddenness sent is shock throughout the city occurrcd yesterday morning ln the Desbrlsay Block at. the Apothecarles Hall corner about ten o’clock. The citizen who was thus suddenly called to a Higher Sphere was Thomas J. Harris, one ot the best known and highly respected gentlemen uf' Charlottetown. Mr. Harris has bean on- gagod during the past few years in the In- surance business and had his ofiioe with his brother,Arohltect. W. C. Harris on the third door cf the new Desbrisnv Block. Yesterday Mr. liiirris left his home at Brlghton as usual shortly befora ten o'clock. The morning was a Stormy one and the walk into the city in the cold wind was necessarily is hurried one. Mr. Iiarrls called into the Examiner Ofilce, apparently in his usual good health, as was his general custom and than pro- ceeded to the Post. Ofiico. All this time he had no premonitlon of his approach to death. Leaving the Post Ofiioe he hurri- ed across the sz-cet to the Desbrisay building and up I. e two ilights of stairs to his own office. While passing through the second hallway he spoke to SV. C. Cook oi Gook’s Photographic studio whose ofilce la located at the head of the stairway. Nothing more was heard of Mr. Harris iill he was found dead. About ten minutes later the brother of the deceased went to the otiioe and found Mr. Harris lying on his side in thc [ar- ther corner ol the room, In his hand were the keys of the ofI'lcc and he had apparently fallen immediately after cross ing the room to the radiator in the corner. Upon his forehead was a slight abrasure but the body bore no marks ot a heavy fnll. The other occupants ofthe building ln- cluding Dr. Strickland, dentist, tho mem- bcrs ofthe stafi' of G. H. Cook’s ctc were immediately summoned buh Dr. Strick- land who marie an examination found that life was extinct. Dr. S. R. Jenkins and Coroner H D Johnson who had been summoned by telephone came n few minutes later and the lntter iifter hearing the facts decided that it was un~ necessary to holil an inqucsh 'Ihc de- ceased had been suffering from hcurt iiiaensc for some time and his death from heart failure was undoubtedly due to his hurried walk in the snow rind his .subsequent rapid ascent ofthe two iliglils oi stairs.
