The canvass, made necessary by the noticeable shortage of toys for the needy this year, will get underway about 3:30 pm. The toys collected will be dis- tributed by the Catholic Social Welfare Bureau, Protestant Fam- ily Service Bureau and the Salva- tion Army. The idea was conceived by Jack Ready. physical director of Queen Charlotte was school. He along with his committee have organiz- ed the “blitz”. The army will also help in the canvass. With the permission of Col. A.W. Rogers, 2 Militia Group will operate trucks in various parts of the city to pick up the collections. Truckers Avoid New Highway day.
