IN MEMORIAM JOHN FREEMAN AFFLECK John Freeman Affleck age /44 of Mount Stewart, an employee of the Maritime Electric , Com- pany, died as the result of an accident in the village of Stan- ley. Bridge. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon Decem?~ ' 1st, from the residence of his father Al- fred J. Affleck to St. John’s Uni- ted Church, where the service was conducted by his minister Rev. John M. Sheen. The Hymns" sung were "The Lordis My Shep- herd” and “Abide With Me". Miss Barbara Coffin sang a solo, “There is no Night There". The minister brought ,a message from the text of Hebrews 9 verses 27- 23 ."And as it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment; So Christ . was once offered to bear the sins of many: and unto them that look Itor him shall he «appear the sec- ond time without sin unto sal- vation." * The late Mr. Affleck was a veteran of World War Two. he served in Canada and overseas with the Signal Corps. ‘On dis- charge he held the rank of ser- geant.
