M aster Roy Morrison, son of Mr. Char les I Morrison, of Montreal, formerly of Charlottetown, in the recent examinations of the Aberdeen schoo! won a scholarship in the Montreal High Schooi of the value of $200. This scholarship entitles Master Morrison to athree vears course. His sister, Miss Norah Morrison, it is pleasing to see, led her class, Very many persons in this province will hear with regret that Mr. William C. Gal- lagher, son of Mr. Patrick Gallagher, of the Hotel Minto, Moncton, died at the Holy Cross Novitiate, Moatreal, on Saturday afternoon. The deceased young man graduated from St./oseph’s University in June, 1898, taking the degree of A.B., and entered the Jesuit Seminary at Montreal in the following July. While there he de- cided to join the Holy Cross Order and accordiogly entered the Holy Croes Novi-~ tate and began his sindy for the priest hood. Beimg a youog man of splendid talents he progressed rapidly io his high calling He was seized with an atiack of la grippe about three months ago, aud bad a hemborrhage from which lasted for 48 hours, re- lucipg the patient to death’s door. His strong constitution, however, pulled him through, ard it was thought he would recover. His rather sudden death 18 sup- poset to be due to a relapse. Deceased was born in Moncton, March 6, 1880, and was cons« quently in the 20th year of his ge. Overa Hovse.—The Flockton Comedy and Vaudeville Company gave their opening entertainment in the Opera House Jast evening. The programme contained sufficient variety to meet all tastes, and many of the rumbers were vigorously en- cored. Of the three short tketches pre sented, the closing “An Honest Rogue,” in whicn Mr, Flockton and Miss D*Arcy participated, was the most pleasing. Another pleasing feature was “The Willow an oriental scene, taken ane, of the company. In Mr. Batty the company bave a violiuist of rare ability, his imitation of a church orgar being ex~ ceedingly weil done.
