Mii. ADAM GRAHAM, of Murray Har-
bor North, met with a very seri-
ous accident one day last week. While
he was coming home from the field with
a cartolad ot potatoes, the horse ran
away,and Mr.Grah am was thrown before
one of the wheels. The wheel
passed over his legs. chest, face and
head. His lip below the nose was cut
clean through, and his chest and right
temple badly crushed and injured. Dr.
Robertson was summoned by telephone
and dressed the wounds, but Mr. Gra-
ham is still in a precarious condition.
His escape from death was most mira-
culous.-Patriot.

Br telegram' received by Messrs. A.
Horne &Co., it was learned that the
schooner Sante Marie passed through
Canso safely Saturday evening. She
left here Wednesday night but was
obliged to put into Picton for shelter
where she remained during the storm.
The Santa Marie was loaded by Messrs.
A. Horne & Co. Her cargo included
24 horses and a number of pigs. sheep
and poultry on deck, and potatoes, oats
and hay under deck. The value of the
cargo is $6.000. The schooner is bound
for Bermuda.
