UPEI Sun November 4, 1932 Jock Talk Continued ' a list of scorers but we know that fast skating and elusive Ted .Kozab had three on Saturday. it was our weakening in the third period that defeated us. We are not certain of this but we do believe that if there were but 40 minutes to a hockey I game we would be undefeated this season in which we have an overworked defense. Hopefully, the recovery of Rob Mazzuca from a shoulder injury and his presence at the blue line will give us the strength and endurance to take four points from the strong Dalhousie team that will be playing us in the. F‘OY'Im rm Saturflav and Sunday. On Monday night the Peoples Rep— ublic of China's National Team will be playing us Once again at the Forum. Doesn't - that statement make us feel BIG? Imagine it, , the PEDPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA'S NATIONAL TEAM against little old UPEI. There are over a billion people in China. . One hundred twenty thousand on PEI. Hey. .we're into BIG TIME! We wonder if they are a "Yin" or a "Yang" team. We suspect that our m1: Panthers have exhibited too much "Yang" so .far this'year! The Lady Panther Basketball team has been hard at work practising and getting in condition for quite some time and Coach George Morrison. has hopes that his team will do as well as last year's although hard hit by graduations and defections- Sue Betts, (who always gives us a hard time as she claims we don't pay; ' enough attention to the distaff side of athletics) is back to handle the rebounds and Libby Baldwin (who is to be congratulated for her nomination to the AUAA Field Hockey team) will have to continue. on with her_high scoring. Donna Noonan and Colleen ‘Rossiter also return and as veterans will get a lot of playing time. Freshmen on the team will’ include Chamberlain, Cindy Doyle, Dora Erman, Ann Marie MaCInnis and Doris MacPhee. Like the Men's team they will be long on speed but short in height. The I schedule for this year ‘ ' is a tough on and ' starts on Friday and Saturday with the C.O.C.B. caning to our gym. We expect that Velvet Charters, who played well for us. net at all shy. last year, will bein the visitorslineup. We ‘ mentioned last week that we were bound for Halifax to'see our granidaughter' I (9 mos. old) and just might drop in to the soc" soccer games. ’ We are pleased to report: that . she is a beautiful child. She is Very friendly and Fortun- atly, she does not look like her grandfather. To the basketball team and fans we might advise that she will probably" ‘ be at most Panther basketball games played in Halifax (Shedo‘esn't 'like hockey) and will probably be dressed in the UPEI Panther shirt we gave her! We can't let Bob Gray's boy get the credit for being the youngest Panther fan! MAIN EVENT INFO There seems to Fe ' confusion rum" the students in wromids to main events.
