It was introduced by Senator C. J. Veniot (L-New Brunswick). The main purpose was to remove u time limit of two years during which the fellowship could be granted without examination and will enable physicians and surg- eons of distinction to be enrolled in the college. One provision is that they must be domiciled in Canada, another that they must be graduates of 20 years standing of a medical school or university. With one amendment that strip- ped away the proposed English version of its name, final reading was given a bill to incorporate Compagnie dc Fiducle du Canada. It had been proposed to insert after the French words the brack- eted English version as Trust Company of Canada. Senator C. C, Bailantyno (PO- Quebec) had objected that the name was too general and might be confused with some public 00n- cern- such as the Bank of Canada. With a capital of $1,000,000, the company will have its head office in Montreal. Approval was given, too, to act to consolidate and extend t o changing the company from a fraternal benefit society into a. mutual insurance company.
