HASZARD’S GAZETTE. SEPTEMBER fit ‘ the two ports, which would increase greatly if the communication was certain an that more and more so,when the railroad shall have been finished between Halifax and Pictou. fear it would be a long time before the com- merce between Charlottetown and Tatama- irouche would induce the making of a junction line between the latter places and Truro. flaakensie asks ten years’ privilege, and by the mi of that time, mauy.changes may have taken lace, and separate steamers me be running tween both places, Pictou and ' atamago_ucli_e as well as Shediac, Richibucto and Miramichi. Wu have also been informed, that an ol'er of a boring machine (complete), has been made to the proper quarter, for the price of £35 lia- lifax currency. We trust that this will be ac- cepted. The sum is trifling compared with the advantages which may result from the use of it. So long as parties tonderin have to find the instruments, so long will tie price or fathom, or yard, or foot, a pear excessive, ut the machine once furnis ed, the first 100 or 200 feet will be com aratively easy and cheap, and after that, it wi be a question, whether it will be worth while to go f'urther. It woul be highly important to have at hand the means of ascertaining. whether water is to be had by boring for it, because ifso, this will be a mat- ter of‘ great importance. We have no large reservoirs. lakes or rivers, as in the neighbor- ing countries, but we may have hidden resour- ces in the bowels of the earth, that only re- quire tapping to give abundant supplies. Colin Murray, Tailor, an inhabitant of this p(l)ace. left Charlottetown on Sunday last, on ard a vessel ireighted with cattle, and bean for Newfoundland. The vessel anchored for the‘ riightat the harbor's mouth.near the buoy ,when deceased went to bed. In the morning he was missing, at least such was the statement made by two men who landed at the blockhouse and desired the keeper-‘s wife to make a report of the fact to the friends of the deceased. The body was found this morning, and upon the Coroner’: proceeding withfie view, a severe contusion was discovered on the left side of the head. After a post morlem examination, Dr. Hobkirk gave it as his o inion to theJury, that the wound was not li ely by itself to have caused death, but that at the same time, he had no doubt that it had been inflicted some- time previous to death, and that the immediate cause of the death of the party was from drowning. Under these circumstances, the Coroner very pro erly adjourned the inquest until tl:e return o the vessel. Married, On Tuesday the i6th iiistnnt, by the Rev.
