Hon W. Broderick, parlimentary recretary to the war oftice, that there should be an interchange of the troops of the empire, and that some of the colonial ha‘ia'ions should do duty in England, the British re- gulars taking their places in the colonies, has created the greatest interest and mre details are eagerly looked for. These de- taile, according to Mr. Broderick, will be ready ina few days. The Right Hon. Joseph Chamberlain’s letter to the colo~ nial premiers would be announced. It contains a matured plan approved of by the war office. Although not specifically so stating, Mr. Broderick was understood to imply that the premiers aleo favored the plan, when he said it “would be favorably regarded by everybody.” The banquet at the Hotel Cecil, in honor of the New South Wales troops, at which the announcement wae made was & great success and the speeches of M.
