Dennis In intramurals last week, the Selectssoft— ball team gained berth in the finals by defeating Verna's M&M squad 4—3 and then going on to defeat the Freshnen. In the M&M win the Selects pounded Verna Parkman all over the ball park. were disappointed. Shane "Tim Foley" Monagh'an and the best dressed man on the field Bruce "Mickey Mouse" Johnson were crying after the game. The Selects now go on to play Korakin in the best of 3 finals. Korakin beat the no name Engineers 11—1 in their playoff tilt. Tackle football last week saw Marian Hall defeat M&M by two points on the last minute heroics of punt returner Hubert "Sockeye" Mac- Donald. It was an all round horrible 'week for M&M as they got pounded _ in football, again, on- Sunday 18-6 by the Some of M&M players Selects. This game \featured the debut of of three nan running backs of Dragon Moore, Chuckles Smith, and Crazy Legs Carroll. Moore ' and Smith both” totalled " over 100 yards in the day While Carroll went with one carry for five yards and then fumbled on the next carry and was cut from the “ Well the intranural season is in full gear ncw with hockey practise beginning this week. ‘ Anyone wishing to try out for a running team just call me, Dial: H—E—A—V— E—N. Even though the season is not over yet some nominee's for awards have been submitted to ‘me. Steven Bishop looks like a shoe in for Chapped Lips Player of the Year. As~ Steven was seen kissing on the G.J. 's dance floor. Steven was trying out for the Selects . but, if the GJ's symptoms persist, he will be out before he touches the ice. The reason is that we already have a guy with Women's lntramurals Softball is at the end of the season with Bernie #2 and Blanchard facing each other in the finals. The play-off game was an easy win for Bernie #2 against Bernie #l and #3. Some of the girls from Bernie #l and #3 would have been better off wearing the gloves on their feet. Right Cheri De Werff?! The great plays were a made by Claire McLaughlin and Helene Cline as they literally threw their : bodies on the ground and made an outstanding play that clinched the game for Bernie #2 (7—4). Broomball-started Monday and again Bernadine is looking great, rather fantastic. But then again, we all know that Bernadine is, the powerhouse for the intramural events.
