you that your son,.92ii64.-Gunner Jo-
seph Michsel Campbell. was wounded
on Jul¥'1iIth by shrapnel. A sbrsp-
nel bullet struck him just above the
left hip but the Doctor says the wound
is not serious, and I expect to have
him back with m .within a month or
so. He was woilring with 30 other
men clearing a new. battery position;
they had been shelled rather heavily
and had gone into their dug .-outs
for safety, coming out after, they
though the shelling waesll through,
when a single shell exploded in the
‘ 'sir and wounded three. He has been
a splendid man in the battzry and l
hope to have him beck withi a month
or eo. '
