A few days ago, the steamer Harlaw sail- ed from Halifax, with a cargo of suppl es for Bay St. George, but, upon arriving there, the Customs officers, acting under orders from St. John, refused to allow the freight to be landed, on the ground that the importers had pledged’ themselves not to pay duties.
