At the home of the Rey. Geerge E. Honey, B. A., M.D., Methodist minister, there is a cistern near the house which is used for house use aud drinking purposes. On accountof the chain of the pump being broken it bad not been used for a short time, but while fixing the pump today Paris green was discovered inside of it. An examination of the water showed that there had been a large amount of Paris green put in the cistern. No rea- gon for the act can be imagined, unless it be the part Mr. Honey has taken in the enforcement of the loca! option liquor Jaw in this community. Tre Orera Hovse.—A great bouse will doubtless greet the Harkins Company this (Thursday) evening. It ia easy to under- staud why this will be so, for one bas but to look back at the excellent performances given by this organization last year and ithe people know that at that time they had the pleasure of seeing the most perfect productions of great plays that had ever been given in the Opera House. Four different plays will be presented this eenaon. On Thureday evening “Shall We Forgive Her; Friday evening, “A Bowery Girl,” Saturday matinee “The New Boy,” and Saturday evening “Brother for Brother.” None of these playa are ex- perimental fer they have all been sub-~ stantial euccesses both artistically and financially in all the larger cities of the United States during the past season.
