Jo-Anna Murphy ..continued from page 4 [etter to the Editor pay to stay here, but there are people who live off campus that walk from downtown to the uni- versity and they also pay to live where they do. A good example is myself and would you believe it? The winter is almost over and I haven’t melted! I must just be lucky! Think of it- you are not the only one who has to walk. What about the people who live in Blanchard? These poor souls have to walk ALL THE WAY through that field just so they can walk all over this BIG univer- sity campus to their classes and, belive this or not, they also pay to stay here. You complained of having to park your car down near Blanchard and say that you Pay to stay here. Yet you are will- "ee ing to pay EXTRA so you can park up by Marion and Berna- dine. Well, what about everyone else? They may not want to or can afford the extra money to pay for a parking lot. Perhaps this doesn’t matter to you though; you seem like the type of per- son who, if their car didn’t work, would take a taxi over to Kmart and back again if you ran out of milk. Start thinking about other students when you voice an opin- ion, because you are not the first person or the last person who will have to pay to live here and have to walk. My final question, What about the people who work here? I know of people who work in the AVC and have to park down by the barn because they can’t find parking spaces by the AVC. Do you see them complaining in the Gem? I don’t. As to the solution I first men- tioned, choose your next univer- sity carefully. We would hate to have you leave and go to a univer- sity with a bigger campus. Can you imagin THAT long walk to classes? P.S - You can thank me for not using your full name, the campus is really not as big as you thought and I just happened to find out who you are... it took me a little longer than I thought. I hoped to have found out before the next issue of the Gem came out but that’s all right I know now! ES: STUDENT UNION Student Union Office closed during Mid Semester Break February 19-23, 1990
