On Sunday, April 11 night from 7-11 o'clock you will see three Marx Brothers classics. For only $2 you will be entertained by Groucho, Chi— co, Harpo and even Zeppo for hours and still be in time for "Book' em Dano — murderl? Also, a canteen will be prr ovided between each movie. Since this iS/the last presentation of the year, the Movie Club hopes you 'have enjoyed our movies, and we look forward to your viewing our Grand Film Fest— ival Finale. Don't miss it. For those unfamiliar and also familiar with the Marx Brothers a critique of each movie would only be appropr- iate with films of such sta— ture. ‘ ' Monkey Business As stowaways on an ocean liner, the Brothers emerge from four barrels marked "Kippered Herring." Groucho proceeds to verbally rape one alluring "Thelma Todd," and in the process is entan— gled in a plot involving ga— nsters and illicit bathtub gin. The Marxes try to dis— embark by passing each of themselves off as being Mau- rice Chevalier, and they evj‘ entually wind up at a socie-' ty party which they inevita— bly crash. For those Harpo Marx lovers, this film’cont— ains his fullest and most extended role. Duck Soup Duck Soup, a political satire on the meaninglessne— $3 of war is one of the Marx Brothers purest and most in— sane films. Since they re— fuse to take war seriously, Duck Soup has been said to be one of the most satirical as well as ridiculous war movies ever made. One of their shortest films, 72' minutes, Duck Soup'contains a surprisingly amount of the Brothers' more famour seque— nces; the lemonade stand, a masterpiece of slow burn, the mirror scene ( most fam— ous of all) and a final ba— ttle episode which has been copied by just about everyo— ne' '.- k _ Horse Feathers Horse Feathers has beenr said to be classic example of satirizing the college and political goings on in Grouch, as the College Pres- ident, Quincey Adams Wagst— aff, display the 1930's. anti—establishmentism in a ridiculous song "I'm against it."
