NOTICES WHAT’S ON AT THE PANTHER LOUNGE From the heart of Melbourne, Australia come the Scared Weird Little Guys. Having per- formed together for over six years in various groups, including two years in Australia’s most popular a cappella group ‘‘The Phones’’, John Fleming and Rusty Berthed have taken their refreshing, unique brand of musical comedy to a new level. Since their inception in July 1990, the Scared Weird Little Guys (SWLGs) have burst onto the live Melbourne comedy circuit, immediately wreaking havoc and playing to packed houses at all major Melbourne comedy venues. Their hectic schedule has taken them to all capital cities in Australia and they have appeared fre- quently on all majornational TV shows. SWLGs are regulars on the Australian college ‘circuit and have the distinction of being voted “‘Best Comedy Act 1992’” by Campus Activities Vic- toria. After four successful tours of North America, they’ve headlined campuses and clubs across _ the country as well as TV spots on Chap’s Comedy Club, Breakfast TV, and the Dini Petty show. Their growing popularity on campuses led them to be nominated contenders for the “*Best Comedy Act’’ award and winners of the ‘‘Best Variety Act’’ award at the 1993 COCA conference. The boys arrive in North America again in September ’93 for their ‘‘1500...and counting”’ tour, commemorating 1500 shows together over the last six years, and are set to take Canada by storm. In April 1993 they released their first foray into recording: ‘Bloody Jeff’, a four- song CD EP which sold out its first pressing in two weeks and is heading up the national charts in Australia. The SWLGS performed at UPEI last year, and we were so impressed that we’ve booked the wacky duo again for Wednesday, November 17th. They’ll be doing their act in the lounge, so get there early to get a good seat. The show will begin around 9:30pm. Mark Wednesday, November 24th on your calender because the Barn will be showing the ever-popular ‘‘Survivor Series’’ featuring all the WWF heavyweights. This event will be open to people of all ages as the second floor will have giant screens so that everyone can enjoy the action. The lounge itself will be restricted to those 19 and over. This week’s movie pub (Nov 6) will be showing ‘ ‘Under Seige’’ staring Steven Seagal and ‘‘Boiling Point’’ with Wesley Snipes. Our end of the semester blow out blast has been set.
