In one game,Marian HAll pounced Blanchard l6-5 in a game which was con- sidered no contest from the start.Marian hit Blanchard silly all through the game,and B.H.'5”Jim Whelan” later left the game with hurt feelings. Blanchard,with the Arsenault Brothers;Woodie,Pat,and Burbie look like they're in for another desperate season of softball. The other game saw Mean Machine squeeze by '50 hmores 6-5 in innings ltpwas a close 93%6 right frOm the word go. The game featured many errors,all of them going to “Drugs” Monaghan.This nearly lost it for the FRL‘SWMN mama 75.4»! The following people have been selected to play on_ ‘the Freshman (full contact) football team. A tournament will be played on the 25th and 26th of Oct. There will be a practise,this Friday, Oct. 3rd at 3:00 P.M. on the Football field. Coaches are Chris Sullivan and Steve Chaisson. Any other Freshman wishing to play can attend practise on Friday. Foot— ball gear will be supplied. Vince. The UPEI Soccer Panthers are at home this Saturday October A, at 2 pm. to host the nation's second ranked team, the Mount Allison Mounties. The Panthers are presently 2-2—0 for the season and with league leading scorer, Ron Taylor, they plan to increase their standing. Helping the offensive threat are speed- ters Tom Hogan and Al Stewart. The Mounties fullbacks Will have a problem. This will be more so when Trevor Crawford move up also to threaten. The Panthers are all healthy this week and for the first time in years have , besides an offense, also a fullback core led by Allan Cameron at sweeper supporting a surprise 'showing by John McRae this past weekend. So, depending upon the practices this week anyone could play this weekend, and one such individual is Peter MacDonald, who_may play any position to get the balance to upset Mount Allison who lost to the Panthers l-O last year.
