On the con- rary there are many reasons for anticipat- ngan increased number-those who visit- d us last year were well pleased and many of them will return; these will bring their friends to share in the newly found de- light; the transportation companies year- ly establish wider connections and through their liberal employment of printers’ ink make the advantages and at- ractions ofour country more generally nown from season to season. Last year the feeding of the multitude had grown to be quite a problem befdre the season reached its height, and the far- mer with butter, poultry, lamb, fruit, or fresh vegetables to sell was hailed by the grocers andlhousekeepers as a sort of good Samaritan. Everything in those lines sold at top prices and customers wanted more. With a good soil, the best of grow- ing climates and such a market as now offers, our farmers are made of different stuff than we think they are, if they fail to take advantage of those conditions this year. As good as the market will be in town, thermis a. b& those farmers who can arrange' to accommod ii c tourists under their o Jvn roofs and .~ el io the consumer direct the produci -. » i the farm. All those contemplatiig, the eh- tertainment of summer visitors, and who can arrange for a. garden, should do so at once. The tourist raves a. good deal about our b ilmy -mornings,our cool noon- days, and our beautiful sunsets. But he is not altogether blind to the charms of an appropriate menu. Such a menu, from July onward, should be drawn largely from the resources of the farm -the garden, the dairy and the liennery. The :tourist is surfeited with canned and dried and preserved stuff. If he can get his food fragrant, fresh and crisp as directly as possible from the hand of Nature,_he is etter pleased and incidentally his host ets greater profit. The moral is, if yon xpect to keep summer bo-nders begin to reparc for them now. Q"“f* WCP U¢97QD' BORN. A 11-ee _ IN Summerside on April ilst _180l, to Mr. and Mrs. Leslie A. Wrilrht a son. DIED. Twenty years ago she retired, and since then Madame Brown has beena. well-known Hgure in Frankford, and her home has been the Mecca for her numerous descendants.
