Live Lives On in Bird of Pray

I have a special place in my heart for Live. Call it teen angst or whatever,(I blame puberty...) but their 1995 album, Throwing Copper rarely left my cd player all thru high school. Songs like ‘Selling the Drama,' ‘I Alone' and ‘Lightening Crashes' (every time I hear singer Ed Kowalczyk's piercing scream of "I Can Feel It" at the end of ‘Lightening Crashes’ it gives me chills.) spoke to me during a time where grunge was fading fast from the musical landscape and the Backstreet Boys were emerg- ing (Yikes!!!). But the last few years haven't been kind to the band. Dismal record sales, not to mention lacklustre

" Thankfully, Birds of Pray is a return to form-— a straight ahead rock record with a few ballads thrown in for good measure; the majority of the fourteen tracks are stellar. Highlights include ‘She,’ ‘Like I Do,' ‘Lighthouse,' ‘Everytime I See Your Face' and the single ‘Heaven.’ The album is a little short, clocking in at 44.30, but each song flows seemingly into the next that it's only a small quibble. Fans who liked Throwing Copper should pick this one up as it's definitely worth a listen.
