Mr. King, today, deities this. He pleads that all he did was to say to the British: “We cannot pt-nnit you to establish your own training facilities here, but we will provide you with our own facilities.” Well, Mr. King did say that-as Hansard shows- but the trouble with what he said was that he only said it. He did-u't provide the facilities. He made no attempt to provide them.

Mr. King offered to provide the llritish Government with air training facilities in Canada ex- actly two days before Parlia- ment u-zts proroguittg—in I938. l-le matte his offer when there was not a. cent of an appropria- tion before the House to provide training facilities-and when no il])pl‘(l])l'ii1li()l’l was possible.
