Consumer Price Index Climbs

OTTAWA (CF) - The consumer price index rose by one-fifth of a point to 116.6 from 1l6.4 during March. following price rises for some foods, rent. automobile licen- ces and medical and dental fees.

During the ceremony nuptial music was rendered by the organ- Iat. Miss Lorraine Day. The guest Iololat. Mr. Henry Mahar. sang "Ave Maria.” and "On this Day. 0 Beautiful Mother."

The bride was attended by Mrs. Walter Gavin, sister-ln-law of the groom. while Walter Gavin ably sup rted the groom.

e bride was lovely in a doe- akin suit of light blue with yellow accessories. She wore a corsage of orchids and carried a white prayer book.

The matron of honor wore a navy suit with pink accessories and a corsage of pink roses.

The groom's gift to his best man was a billfold and the bride's gift. to her matron of honor was a pearl necklace.

Following the ceremony a sum- ptuous wedding breakfast was

immediate relatives and friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Regi- nald Gavin, brother and sister-ln- law of the groom. In the evening a reception and dinner were held at the Hunt Club. The reception room was beautifully decorated with Easter lilies. The bride's ta- ble was centred with a three tier- ed wedding cake topped with min- iature bride and groom. .

The happy couple left by motor for a honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls and through Michigan and New York states.

Prior to their marriage the bride was honored at several show- ers. At a stag party tendered the groom. he was presented with a beautiful tri-light lamp.
