In his fifty years in the profes- sion. he has witnessed the growth of electricity. the telephone. wire- less tolcgraphy and the automo- bile. with its highways. until they are now--token for granted. All this has come about through the teamwork between the scientist and the engineer. he said.

Those present. who represent the professlon. Dr. Macnab stated have hemendous responsibilities. "Through atomic power, are we go- ing to benefit or destroy civilisa- tion? To ensure the latter. the pure sciengst and the engineer must work closely together)

Turning to the Canadian scene.
