Six,—In your issue of the 9th inst., I notice a leiter signed J. F. Buote.criticiz - ing certain remarks made by “ Elector” io your columns a few days ago in con- nection with the recent bye election here.

Mr. Buote has evidently written his letter with the intention of creating 4is- eatisfacton in the ranks of the Liberal Conservative party in this cistrict. At present we are rejoiced over defeating the Government candidate, and it is surpris~ ing that he should attempt to discredit the good work done in the late contest. It may or may not be good policy to have conveners and organizers ia the different districte aud Mr. Buste may be correct in saying that men like Mr. J. A. Brennan, who do their best in *uch matters are only injuring the party. At the conference hela in Charlottetowr last summer Mr. Brennan was appointed convener for the First District of Prince County. Iu ac- cordance with his instructions he caused meetings to be beld in the different polling divisions witb the view of strengthening the organization. Meetings were held at Alberion, K ldare, Tignish, Nail Pond, and other p'aces, which were well aitended by ihe electors aad arrangements made to have the Conservative vote polled ov the day of ejection.
