Trustees, * the re port of the Treasurer, and the report of the Ladies’ Hospital Aid Society, were read and adoptea.

Tne total amount collected up to dat forthe new hospital fund ia $10,443 57 lhe expenditare is $3.537 37. The balan« sn band is therefore $6,806.20

The expenditure on account of the hos pital last year was $2,818.90 and the re- ceipts, including a balance of $616.63, $3,546.31. This leaves a balance on hand, of $727.41.

It was mov:d by H. Haszard, Esq., seconded by H. J. Cundall, E-q., and carried unanimously, that a cordial vote of thanks be given to the Ladies’ Aid Society, the lady collectors and all others who assisied io raising fuods for tbe icstitution. given to Chas. Palmer, Esq., for the unremitting Jabors, care, and attention

he had given to the Hospital. The mo.ion was seconded by L.L. Beer, E-q, and enthusiastically carried.

Mr. Palrser replied very feeling!y and said it was a labor of Icve.

Dr. Taylor moved that a vote o thavks be given to Dr. Johnson,who he said might be called one of the fathers of the Hospital. Dr. {McLeod seconded the motion and said he hoped to see the walls of the New Hospital adorned by an oil portrait of Dr.John- son.

This motion was also very enthusi- astica ly received.

Dr. Jobnson io replying to the vote of thanks said be worked in the interests of the citizens and of christianity, and it would be one of the gratificati ns cf his life when closing his career in this world to know that ve left bebind~liw such an institution for the benefit of the sick and suffering.

Pasture Farm Wanted.

His Worehir, the Mayor is in receipt of a letter from Mr.T.M. Kirkwood, of Sud- bury, Ontario, who desires to obtain a thousand acres of land between Summer~ side and Ubarlottetowa for pastnrage. He ia willing to take them in farms of 100 or 200 acres each, “ae close to each other as possible”. Application may be made to the Mayor or to Mr. Kirkwood himeelf. Mr. Kirkwood will come to see the farms when he hare from those wbe have places to offer. The opportunity to sell or lease seems to bea good one for land owners; and Mr. Kirkwood is evuiently a man to cultivate.
