RLAUNCHING SCHOOL PU- PILS VISIT GEORGETOWN-On June 26, pupils of Launching School were taken on an excursion to Georgetown. to celebrate the clos- ing of the school year. While here they viewed with interest the op- eratlon oi loading the landing craft, the Robert McMichael and watched the ship sail off to Que- bec City. The party were treated to toe cream. They were accom- panied by their teacher, Mrs. Pe- ter Morrison and also by Mrs, Lucy Morrison. Their driver was Mr. Lea Morrison. . tINSTlTUTE SUPPER-Tire ladies of the Women's Institute of Baldwin's Road held a special sup- per get-logether in the Rainbow Room of the Bison Restaurant. Montague, last evening. There were sixteen present. They were served a delicious turkey supper and full course by the capable and ef- ficient staff. Following the sup- per. zhe president, Mrs. Terrence McKenna, spoke briefly on the activities and work of the Instiiutc. 'On Mondav eve.nins- -lune 29th. members of the cast. of "A Ready Made Family" and their friends marked the close of a suc- cessful season with a banquet held at Rivervlew Tourist Home. Lower Montague, The dining room and rabies were artistically decorated with a colorful array of summer flowers, and the delicious chicken
dinner was most heartily enjoyed. Mr. Lorne Wigginton acted as toastmaster and the following
toasts were given: ”The Queen," responded to by singing the nation- al anthem. "The director of the play" proposed by Miss Evelyn Under-hay. which was cleverly done. and gave much credit to Mrs. C. A. Shaw, who, besides her interest and untiring efforts, at very short notice, played the part. for two evenings. of one of the male cast who had been taken ill. Mrs. Shaw responded to this toast. ”The stage manager, promptor and all other helpers," pfoposed by Georile Wright and responded to by Mrs. J. M. Fraser. Each one present was asked to give his or her most em- barrassing and funniest experience. These proved very entertaining.
Mrs. G. Arnold Wighiman recit- ed an original and humorous poem. a verse about each member of the cast. Rev. J. M. Fraser gave a. short talk, after which others were called upon to speak briefly. In response to request. Mrs. C. A. Shaw gave a reading.
Duets were sung by Mr. Lome Wigginton and Mr. Dannie Mur- ray. and Mrs. Horace Fraser and Mr. Colin Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson was thanked for her hospitality and the delightful dinner provided.
A hearty sing-song brought an evening of good fellowship to a close. This play. which was spon- sored by the Young Adults Group of Trinity United Church. Mon- taguc, has been presented in the following centres: Montague (twice). Millview, Eldon, Murray River. Dunstaffnage, Dundas, An- nandale and York. where, in each case, it was well received and the cast was hospitably treated.

Mur- phy and MacNelil in the fifth. and 13. Murphy in the seventh. In this inning D. MarDonald scored the lone tally tor Cardigan. Georgetown scored five runs in the eighth when G. Murphy, 8. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Donovan and daughter Jean of Pictou, N. 8.. motored to Georgetown on June 26, where they visited for the week-end as the guests of Mr. Donovan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Donovan. On the trip Board. A vote of thanks was ex- tended the trustees and com- mlttea in connection with the erection of the new school. and a vote of 55.000 was made to com- plete the other two rooms.
The meeting went. on record as noting with approval. appreciation and satisfaction the appointment of one of the rate payers, I-Ion. Keir Clark, M.L.A., as minister of education.

For her marriage the bride wore a grey travelling ensemble.
Following the ceremony. a re- caption was held at the Royal Van- oouver Yacht. Club. The toast to the bride was proposed by her uncle, Mr. Justice Charles L. Fill- more.
Later Mr. and Mrs. Macias left on a motor trip south to the Uni- ted states. Upon their return they will reside in Btaveston, B. C.
