N.8., killed a beef cow a few days ago. She was very fat, but for some days had appeared to be sick, On opening the cow a fisherman's knite thirteen inches long was found in her stomach. It is not sur- prising that she did nut appear to be in good health, The knife was a rather wwugh subject for digestion.

He spoke on that evening vt his stewardship from his conversion in 1876 to the present time During his stay there 436 persons had been added to the church member- ship. In that time four churches had been built or repaired, one on Church Street, one on High Street, and churches in Lewisville and Cherrytield.

A Baisk Traps a? Sovris.—Shipping has been ging on quite briskly at Sonris for the last day or two. Potatoes are in good demand and bring readiiy 25 cents a bushel cash with an upward tendancy. One firm was paying as high aa 30 cents a bushel, on Wedoesdiy evening. The McKinley bill, it seems, has'nt frightened Souris buyers any. The American steamer, Simon Dumois, be- sides several sailing vessels, are there taking in potatoes as fast as they can get them.
Lec Broxey.—Mr. Donald McLellan, of Cable Head, was on his way to Souris, on Wednesday last, with a load of beef for Mr. Denvis Murphy's canniog establishmeut. On coming down Gillis’ hill his horse stumbled and fei] upon him, the shaft coming across his leg, breaking it between the ankle and knee.
