“Church Meeting

Many a staid citizen ls already turning back the pages of memory to a long ago boyhood, when the circus was the biggest thing in life, and the privilege of carrying. water to the large and apparently hollow elephants was an honor not lightly thrust aside.

The coming of the circus re- minds many an oldster of the hur- rlcd dressing in the semi-darkness -the tip-tcelng down the front stairs, and the run to the railroad yards, where the red and yellow trains were "spotted" when the circus came tatown. 1n those days the circus canted, perhaps, s. half- dozen elephants. ‘Tomorrow's cus brings twenty of the bulky creatures, with all else in like pro- portion.
