donors attended the Red Cross blood donor clinic at the Y Cen tre in Montaigne last night. it was gratifying to Red Cross of- ficials to note that 32 of these donors contributed for the first time. 'and that visitors in the area turned up to add their do- nations to those of the local re~ sidems. Murray Jackson, who headed the Y's Men’s Committee whicn sponsored this clinic. stated that he was pleased with the response but that he hoped for much better results next year now that his committee has a general idea of the procedure to be followed for a' successful clinic. He said he felt the Old Home program in ay have cut the attendance. espe- cially due to the cancellation of the Wednesday program.

Today is here! And it's for the Gold Cup and Saucer parade, a mammoth. colorful affair filled with pretty girls, bands, clowns, pretty girls. floats, pretty girls —- in fact. everything that transform people moving down a street together into a real parade including pretty girls.

Stars of the day and prettiest girls of the lot are The Evening Patriot Gold Cup and Saucer girls, who will be riding in con- vertibles in e vanguard of the parade.

About one dozen bands will 'be making plenty of noise and down the route after parade begins at 10 this morn- ing. Included are the Royal Canadian Dragoons. Katahdlu Rangers, Dr. Maude Burbank‘s band from Moncton, with the 83~year old lady bandleader herself riding along in a con- vertible close at hand. a many more. Christopher Gled— hill. provincial music director, will adjudicate the bands.
