Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Beaton Crozicr of Carleton Lot 6, Mr. Morton oasely of Brae and Mr. Lyman Caseley of Mill River. in the death of their sister. Mrs. John Taylor, who passed away suddenly on June 5th in Summer- side.

Mrs. Christopher Metherall has returned to her home in Rosebank after spending the winter months in Summersidc. the guest of her daughter Mrs. Fred MacRac, and Mr. MacRae. This grand old lady: is enjoying very good health for her advanced years and her many friends are delighted to see her again. At Rosebank she will st-av with her daughter Mrs. Robert Hunter. and Mr. Hunter.

The sudden death of Mr. Sev- mour Boulter of Milburn occurren suddenly at his home on June (itli at the age of seventy-five years.

He leaves to mourn his loss his son-owing widow and one son Ralph and daughter. Freda. The

funeral service was conducted bv Rev. Blair 13. Colborne on Friday nltcrnoon, June 8. and interment was in the Git-nwnori Uiiitrtvi Cjiiurcli cemetery.

Her many friends in the Cole- uiaii-Brae and Derby districts want to congratulate Miss Helen Miittart who was one of six grad- uiitcs of the Prince County Hos- pital School of Nursing in Sum- mcrside. Miss Muttart. whose home is in Albany. was a very successful and beloved teacher at the Derby School for several years She was the Valedictorian and war. also one of the prize winners. Among those attending the grad- uation ceremonies were Mr. and Mrs. rRoy Oulton of Brae Harbor with whom Miss Mutt-art boarded when teaching at ' the Derby School.

Mr. Swabey Jelly of O'Learv recently celebrated his 86th birth- day. His family with their wives and children were present. A beautifully decorated two-tier birthday cake was baked by his daughter, Mrs. Alex MacDonald. and was presented to the guest of honor by his little granddaughter, Lucy Ann Jelly. This enjoyable function concluded by all wishing ilic guest of honor more happy birthdays. Mr. Jelly is interested and active in all that pertains to the betterment of the community and the advancement of the Christian Church. Despite his ad- vanced years. he enjoys fairly food health.

The Bloomfield United Church Women's Missionary Society met for their June meeting in the church with the president. Mrs- A. W. Craswell presiding and con- ducting the opening worship and presiding over the business period The roll call was responded to by a verse of Scripture containing the word "Work". The flr08Y5m- "An Adventure In International Friendship" was demonstrated by a playlet, "A Work Camp in Eur- ope". Assisting the leader were Mrs. Errol Stetson. Mrs. John Lewis, Mrs. John R. Dignan. Mrs. E. R. McAusland and Mrs. Hebcr Pi-ofltt. Prayer was offered by Mrs. Palmer for Christian Youth in Canada and Europe and for our missionaries in Japan who are taking part in work camps. The beautiful worship service was led by Mrs. Earl Palmer with its theme of "Worship and Work". Appropriate hymns were sung and Scripture readings were given by the leader. Mrs. Heber Profitt. and Mrs. L. E. Profitt. Mrs. John Lewis read a message on Christian Stewardship. Miss Nellie Arbing gave a short sketch of work car-

It being the first free satur- day ending a forty-hour Wonk week. there were only two of the section men on hand to help, but the train was back in the track and away after about an hour's work. There was s length of track badly damag- ed nnd the section men remained to repair this so as to make it pass-' able to other trains during the week-end, before retiring for the
