Did you ever ask yourself the whole time you were writing your editorial why are there Radical femi- nists??

WellI can understand why, when in the 1990’sI have to put up with some of the attitudes that I do, even within our own newspaper. I can only imagine the garbage that feminists from the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s have had to deal with. An example, in the early 80’s when women went to the House of Commons for funding for Shelters for Battered Wives the House of Commons laughed.

This would be a bitter pill to swallow. I think of it with disgust even now. You made some comments that you probably, no definitely should have looked into it first. |

Women don’t wantall the power just an equal share. We don’t claim to have all the answers but it is a fact Mr Editor that more men than womencommit violent crimes, with women usually being the victims.

Is this all the faultof men. Well I would prefer not to have to point a finger but since you brought it up, all you have to do is pick up a history book or maybe take your head out of the sand to know previously women were not ALLOWED any power. Historically men have made all the decisions for both men and women, so if male policy making has brought about global warming I guess. You’ll have ti live with the guilt.

When men and women realize that if we both worked together equally maybe the worlds problems canbe solved. Fornow who cares if your aso-so feminist, a moderate feminist or aradical feminist. Thanks to the feminist before us we have access to education, jobs & some protection that we take for granted everyday, and then thank them by feminist bashing.

Dear Editor,

I would like to present my point of view on the li- brary situation here at UPEI. I totally agree with the person who is fed up with all the talking that goes on in the library. The library is not a place to socialize, there are other places for that. (The Pit, the Panther Lounge) In particular I find the noise level in the upstairs sun room unacceptable. I’ve been studying in the upstairs sun room for my four years here and it’s always the same people seem to go there only to gab - you know who you are! I can’t even hear my- self think in there half the time. I agree with ‘‘Tired of Children’’ - If you’re not there to study then leave so other people can!

‘*Sick of the Power Trip’’ indicated that (and I quote) ‘*We pay a fair chunk of these guy’s pay cheques, and in return we get tossed around like twelve year olds.’’ The point is that our tuition does little to pay forthe library staff/security. You obviously have no concept of how your school is funded. the bulk of our tuition goes towards paying our professors,

You say you’re sick of being treated like a child. Well, I have a solution for that - stop, acting like a child! Grow up would you!

Another thing - I also plea fora silence of Colleen Easter. Sure she has a constitutional right to express her opinions but I wish she’s do it in a grammatically correct format! At best her points of argumentation are weak and illfounded and her grammar and sentence structure are horrid. She may profit froma stint with the Debating Society anda grammar lesson. Halfthe time she has no idea what she is talking about (exam- ple her commentary on CFS, The Canadian Federation of Students) The only reaction her commentaries get from this reader is laughter - It’s better entertainment than the comic page!
